Diesen Tag verbrachten wir mehr oder weniger im Stadtzentrum Las Vegas - The Strip. Wir schauten uns einige Hotels an und liessen einfach die Atmosphäre auf uns wirken. Las Vegas ist Las Vegas - so wie man es sich vorstellt. Überall blinkt und funkelt es - riesengrosse Leuchtreklamen, alles bewegt und dreht sich. Ein Hotel übertriebener als das andere... auf seine Art beeindruckend. Schade nur, dass es überall Baustellen hat und hässliche, völlig unglamouröse Absperrungen.
Etwas ausserhalb sieht Las Vegas wiederum völlig anders aus. Überall diese Einfamilienhäuser - eines gleich dem anderen. Meine Cousine lebt hier quasi auf dem Land, rundherum nichts - auch das ist Las Vegas. Am Abend gingen Heidi und ich ins "Phantom of the Opera" Musical welches im Venetian gespielt wird. Das war echt genial - ich hab das Musical schon mal in der Schweiz gesehen, als ich noch kleiner war. Bühnenbild, Show und vorallem der Gesang hat überzeugt.
Später verliefen wir uns noch ins eine oder andere Hotel. In der Nacht sieht Las Vegas nochmals ganz anders aus... Ich würd nicht sagen eine Märchenwelt, aber so ganz real scheint das hier schon nicht sein... Nicht's ist unmöglich (Toyota?).

During the day we went to The Strip, this is where all the big hotels are. It was pretty impressive to see all the hotel, one bigger than the other... Las Vegas is really what you think is Las Vegas. Nothing is impossible here. It's a gambler and entertainment city - just for fun. In the evening we went to the Venetian to see the musical "Phantom of the Opera". It was great, I really liked it. I like the music and the show was just incredible. Actually I thought it must be too much "show" so that I will not like it, but it wasn't too much, it was just right.
After we went for dinner and walked a little along the strip and we saw different hotels. It's really unbelivable what ideas they have to make their hotel special...
